My Story

First, I want to say that I am really excited to be your new Advocacy and Development Director at Shores Vacation Rentals. I’m here to work with and for you, ensuring your property rights are protected and your investments are maximized

In my personal life, being a father has taught me the importance of balance and negotiation. As many of you may know, every day is a struggle when dealing with a young teenager to find the middle ground and come up with common sense reasoning that will allow both sides the ability to grow and evolve - not to mention finding ways to live peacefully and respectfully with one another as we embrace each other's talents, beliefs and identity.

I’m passionate about my family, my career, social justice issues, Lake Michigan, my Jeep, tattoos and my artwork to name a few. I have been fortunate enough to have a few of my drawings published in various stories and books and humbled by having some of it hang in private collections throughout the United States.  As you will read in a minute, professionally, I’ve spent my career honing my skills in advocacy, marketing, and community engagement.

Little bit about my Professional Journey and Experience...

I’ve been lucky to gain a wealth of experience across various fields. My partner in life likes to tease that I am her Rennaissance Man - a titled I will happily wear. My journey, after high school, began as a Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy during the Persian Gulf War. This role would be one of the biggest influences in my life, it inspired me to be better, and to not to judge others by their differences but utilizes those differences to play with, and as, a team successfully. Most importantly, it instilled in me a deep respect for discipline, compassion, and the defense of democratic values, all of which shaped my commitment to advocating for others.

Following my time in the military, I continued to hone my skills with a few various jobs, but the one I was most honored to serve as was my time as a Public Health Investigator for Kalamazoo County. This position allowed me to engage directly with local governments, learning the complexities of public policy and the importance of standing up for the rights of those who may not always have a voice. It was here that I first understood how critical it is to participate actively in local government and community affairs.

Directly after the role as a Public Health Investigator, I decide to get a formal degree for one of the best Art Colleges in the world - The School of the Art Institue of Chicago (tell you more about that below).  After graduating, I became a Special Education Vocational Instructor in Chicago, which further refined my approach to advocacy. This role taught me to build coalitions, lead with empathy, and ensure that every community member’s voice is heard and respected. It also reinforced my commitment to social justice and equality, principles that guide me in every professional decision I make.

Now, as far as my Marketing and Advocacy Expertise goes...

In addition to my advocacy work, I bring a creative approach to marketing. I graduated from the SAIC with a BFA focused on Screenwriting, with a "double minor" emphasis in Art Education and Interdisciplinary Art. My training in storytelling has given me the ability to craft narratives that captivate audiences and build trust. My training in Art Education taught me how to use my skills for public policy work. These two skill sets are essential in promoting Shores Vacation Rentals, South Haven, and the Greater Blue Star Area. Whether through social media campaigns, video marketing, or traditional media, I’ll work to ensure your property is positioned in the best possible light.

My Commitment to Shores Vacation Rentals...

At Shores Vacation Rentals, my role is twofold: advocating for your rights as property owners and finding innovative ways to market and grow the business. My goal is to ensure that local regulations and ordinances related to short-term rentals are fair, balanced, and rooted in common sense—not emotion or haste. I will work with local governments to protect your investment and ensure your voice is heard in these discussions.

I want to once again, share my personal commitment to you. Every day while working at SVR, or lobbying through CPR United, I will strive to be your strongest ally—protecting your rights, your property, and your role in this community. I promise that together, we will build something truly lasting and impactful.
